By downloading any JYOZE voicebank from any release period,
you are bound to the following guidelines.
Preface & Definitions
The guidelines on this page (As written in English) are the most current and up to date and take priority over the guidelines present in the README files of ANY of the JYOZE voicebanks or interpretations of these guidelines in other languages.
Anytime JYOZE is referred to by name in these guidelines without further clarification, it is applicable to BOTH the voicebanks (The singing database) AND the character (The artwork and identity, such as the name).

The term "Work" refers to published items (physical and digital) using the voicebank or character, be it an original song or cover but can also mean other creations such as artwork, animation, talkloids, physical goods, etc.

The term "Derivative" refers to any fanmade versions of JYOZE that use the character name, visual design or the recordings in the voicebanks.
​
The term "Port" refers to derivatives that primarily present themselves as JYOZE banks made for other vocalsynth editors and UTAU voicebank types not officially supported by JOEZCafe, the creator and manager of JYOZE, such as VCCV English or the Deepvocal engine.
Distribution
As manager, JOEZCafe has free reign to remove a voicebank from distribution for any reason.
If a JYOZE voicebank's removal occurs, you are free to redistribute the voicebank so long as you still follow the guidelines on this page.
JYOZE voicebanks are free to download for all users, selling any JYOZE voicebanks, including ports and derivatives for monetary gain is forbidden.
Voicebank Attribution
When publishing works prominently containing JYOZE, please credit the character and voicebanks to JOEZCafe in the description or credits of your work via the service the work is hosted on (eg. Video sharing site, music storefront, physical goods storefront, etc).
Brief sentences will suffice, such as:
"JYOZE is an UTAU by @JOEZCafe"

If using official artwork of JYOZE, please also provide credit to the respective artist like so:
"JYOZE artwork by @faynatical"
Do not refer to the voicebank or character by any other name, nor attribute it to any other author, vocals using the JYOZE voicebank to represent another visual character in a work such as a music video is acceptable, so long as JYOZE's inclusion is mentioned, such as crediting the voicebank for the vocals.

If submitting works using JYOZE to the music streaming service Spotify, credit can be made by either placing JYOZE's name in the title of the work (eg. "feat. JYOZE") or by citing JYOZE as one of the contributing artists, linking the song to JYOZE's Spotify Artist page.
Usage & Restrictions
Works using JYOZE are allowed to contain

- Violent Content
​
- Sexual Content
​
- Groups, couples or "ships" with other characters so long as the guidelines here as well as the guidelines provided by the authors of the other characters involved are not violated
​
- Political or religious content in relation to general themes or social commentary in a work primarily made for entertainment purposes
​
- Content and characterisation of the JYOZE character that diverts from any established canon seen in other works or established by the creator so long as it does not violate the rest of the guidelines
​

The following usage of JYOZE is forbidden under ANY circumstances
​
- Explicit underage (under 18) sexual content. Regardless of creative intent, including characterisation, critique or criticism, JYOZE is depicted as a character who is over the age of 18, and this content is strictly off limits when using the JYOZE character or voicebank
- Content that is illegal/defaming or contains bigotry to individuals or groups of race/gender/sexuality/nationality
- Political or religious content in works made for the purpose of propaganda, radicalisation or to incite hate speech (ie. Works NOT made primarily for entertainment purposes)
- Content that portrays a real world figure or individual in a way deemed offensive or indicative of harassment

- Use of JYOZE in tandem with AI generated artwork, music or lyrics
Voicebank Modification
& Derivatives
Any and all fanmade derivatives and ports made using assets from the JYOZE voicebanks must be explicitly stated as being derivatives if used in any public works and the voicebanks themselves must not be redistributed.

You have free will to modify the audio files, oto.ini, frq files and prefix maps in the JYOZE voicebanks, so long as you continue to follow the other terms on this page and not put these modified assets up for public distribution (Derivatives of JYOZE that do not feature the word "JYOZE" in their name or do not follow the Voicebank Attribution Terms are prohibited, this includes virtual/AI/vtuber personalities).

Please do not trace, recolour or otherwise modify and redistribute the artwork provided with the voicebanks.
​
Making "ports" or "functional derivatives" (such as converting a JYOZE voicebank into other voicebank types like CVVC/VCCV or converting a JYOZE voicebank to other vocalsynth editors like Deepvocal) is only allowed with STANDARD SYNTHESIS SOFTWARE (Software that directly samples audio without using any AI Synthesis), additionally, these modified banks cannot be distributed to other users under any circumstances and you must continue to follow the terms of use on this page as well as the terms of any other software you use JYOZE on.

- Porting JYOZE to any AI Synthesis of any kind (NNSVS, Diff-SVC, etc) without permission by JOEZCafe is strictly Forbidden.
Commercial Use
Some commercial use of JYOZE is allowed (even without express permission!) so long as ALL the other guidelines on this page are followed, such as Voicebank Attribution and Usage & Restrictions.

JYOZE's Official Artwork however cannot be monetised in any way, shape or form.
Monetisation of JYOZE in blockchain and cryptocurrency related works, such as Non-Fungible Tokens is also strictly forbidden.

Examples of scenarios where commercial use does not require permission include:
​
- Single songs or entire albums that make use of the JYOZE voicebanks
- Use of the JYOZE character design in album artwork or promotional videos for music that uses the JYOZE voicebanks
​
- Reuse of songs, album artwork or promotional videos specified in the above two conditions in commercial software, such as video games (With permission by the creators of that work granted beforehand)
​
- Artwork or physical goods (ie. Figurines, plushies, etc) of the JYOZE character design sold in a limited release, such as at conventions or charity events, with explicit notice that they are not official goods approved or endorsed by JOEZCafe
Scenarios where you must contact JOEZCafe for permission include:

- Use of the JYOZE voicebanks OR the JYOZE character design in a karaoke system, be it hardware, software or an online service to provide vocals, including backing vocals
- Use of JYOZE in vocal synthesis research, or releasing a commercial version of a JYOZE voicebank (eg. VOCALOID, Synthesizer V, CeVIO)

- Use of the JYOZE voicebanks or character design in advertisements WITH THE EXCLUSION OF advertising releases of acceptable commercial use of JYOZE, such as music releases
​
- Use commercially in telecommunications, such as ringtones or audio alerts
​
- Commercial use as a built in sound, voice, character or mascot in consumer electronics, virtual assistants, robots, cars, appliances, GPS navigation, game software, live holographic displays, or motion pictures
​
- Mass-produced artwork or physical goods of the JYOZE character design sold for an indefinite length of time with no mention of a limited release or limited stock

Commercial Use
"I wish to produce a full album of original songs featuring the JYOZE voicebanks, the album artwork uses the JYOZE character design and each song has a music video online that also uses the character design"

"I am a game developer who has contacted the producer of an original song featuring JYOZE and intend on using their song in my commercially sold game, be it as part of the game's soundtrack or one of the playable songs in rhythm-based gameplay. The only appearance of the JYOZE character design in-game and in marketing material is the reuse of material made for the song, such as album artwork or promotional videos, we will not be designing any additional material for the game using the JYOZE character design without consent from JOEZCafe"

"I am an artist who sells prints at a convention and wish to make and sell a limited release of prints using the JYOZE character design for the duration of the convention, I also intend to clearly communicate that this is unofficial work"
​"I am a marketing director who would like to use either the JYOZE voicebanks, the JYOZE character design, or both in an advertisement for my organisation's product, the product itself is not a commercial work approved by JOEZCafe that uses the JYOZE voicebanks (such as a music album)"
​"I am a game developer who intends to make a game featuring the JYOZE name and character design as a significant character or mascot, or use the JYOZE voicebanks for purposes beyond just using the voicebanks in music (such as voice acting)"
​"I am an artist who has an online store that sells my work, I intend to sell a print using the JYOZE character that does not have a limited release or limited stock"
